About Us

Mission Statement: The Heart of Giving Inc. is an outreach nonprofit organization dedicated to meeting the needs of communities through limitless acts of giving. Our mission is to connect individuals, families, and organizations, bridging gaps in resources to inspire hope, empower lives, and foster unity through selfless service and collaboration.

Scriptural Foundation: 

2 Corinthians 9:6-8 (NIV), "Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work."

Our "3" Focuses Inspired by 2 Corinthians 9:6-8:

1. Hope Through Generosity 

• We embody the spirit of cheerful giving by answering prayers and meeting tangible needs in the community. Through acts of compassion, we sow seeds of hope and encouragement, reminding people of God’s abundant grace.

2. Resources Through Collaboration

• By partnering with agencies, churches, schools, and other organizations, we create a network of support to provide essential resources. This collaboration ensures that every gift uplifts, empowers, and strengthens individuals and families.

3. Relationships Through Service

• Grounded in love and unity, we foster meaningful relationships that bring people together. By serving with joy and sincerity, we build a foundation of trust, support, and shared purpose, reflecting the love of Christ.

Since our inception on October 23, 2011, we have provided a giving platform on Facebook that connects individuals, families, programs, agencies, organizations, schools, and churches to collaborate and meet needs through various drives and initiatives. Our Facebook page has grown to over 50,000 members who actively give and receive from one another, creating a strong network of support and generosity.

We are dedicated to serving the underserved, the less fortunate, veterans, singles, single parents, college students, families, seniors, foster care youth, and anyone in need of assistance. Through our platform, we help provide furniture, household essentials, kitchenware, clothing for all ages, baby items, pet supplies, and more—everything freely received and freely given.

Additionally, we support shelters in the Hampton Roads area with much-needed items and extend our services across the entire Peninsula. Beyond direct assistance, we offer internship and volunteer opportunities, allowing individuals to give back to the community meaningfully.
